Getting to Know Burgundy

Burgundy is one of the top wine-producing regions in France. Comprised of thousands of small growers, Burgundy is known to have some of the finest quality wines in the world. Burgundy is located just east of the centre of France. While getting to know some of the Premier Crus and Grand Crus of Burgundy may take some time, understanding wine from Burgundy couldn't be simpler. The white wines in Burgundy are made of 100% Chardonnay grapes while the red wines are made of 100% Pinot Noir grapes (except Beaujolais where Gamay is the principle red grape).

William Fevre Chablis Domaine

Very fresh bouquet with notes of citrus and white fleshed-fruit. Fresh and supple, the wine is marked by mineral notes that are typical of the appellation. Pairs well with fish dishes, grilled or in a light sauce; as well as various seafood, oysters and sushi dishes.


Drouhin Vaudon A.C. Chablis

Pure and limpid colour, with a faint greenish hint. On the nose, fresh aromas of flower and fruit (lemony flavours) and, at times, spicy notes of coriander. Harmonious aromas bringing character and elegance. The magnitude of its Grand Cru origin and the light salty notes from the Kimmeridgian soil are evident.


Bouchard Père & Fils Macon-Lugny St. Pierre

A pale, gold colour with nice intensity. Floral notes dominate the first nose giving finesse and elegance. Once this wine is allowed to breathe, slight nuances of vanilla surface and open up to fruity aromas of yellow peach and plum. On the palate, nicely rounded with lots of richness, yet still very fresh. Notes of fruit dominate (apricot, yellow peach). Harmonious on the palate with excellent length.


Joseph Drouhin Saint - Veran

A wine that smiles and makes you smile! It is stylistically close to Pouilly-Fuissé, with its golden hue, its greenish reflection and its refreshing taste. The aromas are reminiscent of the ripe Chardonnay grape, with subtle notes of musk. A pleasant roundness coats the palate.

A seductive wine and a really nice expression of the Chardonnay grape. The colour is golden, with some green reflections. Among the floral and fruity aromas, almond and ripe grapes dominate. On the palate, the wine is refreshingly pleasant, etheral in its lightness. Long and refreshing aftertaste.
